Swim Levels & Evaluation
To improve safety and coaching quality, all youth swimmers signed up for group lessons will be placed into classes according to their Calphin Amature Swimmers Skill Levels, which are determined either through a in-class test or a verbal evaluation at their initial registration consulting with our front desk staff. In Claphin coaching curricurum, there are seven major progressive swim skill levels from Bubbler to Master, with three minor levels for each major. When actual enrolled swimmers at the very same level do not meet the minimum class open student number, we usually optimize and place the enrolled swimmers with adjacent minor levels into one swim class to ensure balanced structure, class momentum and peer motivation, while requiring our coach to provide swim instructions taylored to individual swimmer's improvement need.
- Session-end Testing
Calphin swim classes are a session-based group lesson program, with four sessions corresponding to the four seasons. Near the end of each session, a comprehensive evaluation of our swimmmers' skills will be conducted. This in-class test is typically scheduled at the third to the last lesson, when the instructor of a class will determine the Calphin level for each of the tested swimmers for them to continue their swim class in the upcoming session.
